How do I check if a name is already trademarked?
Search the free USPTO, Canadian and UK trademark databases for the exact name and also for close spellings, sound-alikes and translations, in the classes that cover your goods or services. A similar mark for related goods can still block a name, so an exact-match search alone is not enough. This pre-screen runs those searches across all three countries, adds domain and social handle checks and lists the facts in one table for US$39 all-in; it is not legal advice.
How it works
- Pay US$39 at checkout, then email us the proposed name and a one-line description of what you will sell.
- We pick the likely classes of goods or services from the international (Nice) classification and tell you which ones we used.
- We search the USPTO, the Canadian Trademarks Database and the UK IPO for identical marks and for similar spellings, sound-alikes and close variants.
- We record each live or pending mark found, with its owner, class, status and registry link.
- We check .com, .net and .org domains and handles on X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- We put every finding in a plain facts table and email it to you within 24 hours.
- If the table shows close marks, take it to a trademark lawyer as a starting point.

Who it's for
For founders and small businesses naming a product or company before they buy the domain, print packaging or file an application. It suits people who want the facts in one place before deciding whether to spend money on a trademark lawyer.
What it isn't
- Not legal advice and not a substitute for a trademark lawyer.
- Not a statement that a name is safe or free to use.
- Not a filing service: we do not prepare or submit trademark applications.
- Not a search of unregistered business names, company registers or countries outside the US, Canada and UK.

Questions
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a factual report of what the public registries, domain records and social platforms show on the day we search. It lists marks, owners, classes and statuses, but it does not judge whether your name would be refused or challenged. A trademark lawyer can give that judgment, and our table gives them a clear starting point.
Which countries are covered?
The United States (USPTO trademark search), Canada (the Canadian Trademarks Database run by CIPO) and the United Kingdom (UK IPO trade mark search). UK records include older EU trade marks that were copied into the UK register in 2021. Other countries and the EU register itself are not included in this pack, so check them separately if you plan to sell there.
Why search for similar names and not just the exact name?
Trademark offices refuse or oppose marks that are likely to cause confusion, not only identical ones. A name that sounds alike, is spelled differently or means the same thing can conflict if it is used for related goods or services. That is why we search spelling variants, sound-alikes and plurals, and record the class for every mark we find.
What is a trademark class, and do I need to know mine?
Goods and services are grouped into 45 classes under the international Nice classification, for example class 30 for coffee and class 25 for clothing. You do not need to know yours. Tell us in one line what you will sell, and we pick the likely classes, up to three, and show which ones we searched so you can check them.
Which domains and social handles do you check?
We check whether the exact name is free as a .com, .net and .org domain, and whether the handle is taken on X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn. A taken handle is not a trademark conflict, but an active account with the same name in your market can still cause confusion, so we note whether it looks active.
What should I do if the report finds a similar mark?
A similar mark does not automatically rule your name out. It depends on how close the names are, whether the goods are related and whether the mark is still live. Many founders pick a different name at this stage, which costs nothing. If you want to keep the name, take the report to a trademark lawyer for an assessment.
Do you file trademark applications?
No. We only search and report what we find. Applications are filed with each trademark office, either by you or by a lawyer or agent. In the US you can file online through the USPTO, and in the UK through the UK IPO. A lawyer can also help with the description of goods and any objections later.
Refunds
Full refund if we can't deliver: if we can't produce your pack, or it arrives later than the stated delivery time, you get all your money back. We don't control decisions made by other companies (for example a platform's review team or a card network), so the refund covers our delivery, not their decision.
